Expansion to New Areas

Expansion to New Areas

In the past few years, CDTA has expanded its service area into Montgomery and Warren counties, creating a network of new routes that serve neighborhoods, employment centers, recreational activities, and more.

In Montgomery County, CDTA continues to explore strategies that enhance pedestrian safety and improve the experience for transit customers. The agency is exploring four locations spanning from park-and-ride lots, hospitals, and job centers where passenger amenities and operational upgrades are being considered.

In Warren County, CDTA is further expanding their mobility menu, merging with Greater Glens Falls Transit (GGFT) and now operating routes between Glens Falls, Queensbury, South Glens Falls, Lake George, and other areas in the County. The route system includes the summer trolley service that expands the connections between Glens Falls and the Lake George area. Improvements have already been implemented at notable locations, including the Fort Edward Amtrak Station which is now easily accessed through the new CDTA network.

CDTA has also implemented micromobility options in these new service areas, providing customers with a variety of ways to ride sustainably. Both electric and pedal CDPHP CYCLE! bicycles are available seasonally in the Montgomery and Warren service areas. Overall, these exciting new investments aim to further connect the Capital Region, granting customers access to new workforces, and allowing for easy mobility from neighborhoods to commercial districts.
