BusPlus Purple Line - New Shelters

BusPlus Purple Line - New Shelters

You may have seen the new CDTA BusPlus stations popping up at the UAlbany Uptown Campus, Partridge Street, Quail Street and the Harriman Campus West. These state-of-the-art stations are part of the BusPlus Purple Line launch set to roll out in late 2023.

Sidewalk and pavement work has been completed to prepare for the installation of the new station infrastructure. In addition to glass siding which shields customers from inclement weather, there are new benches and lean bars that provide comfortable places to wait alongside BusPlus’ modern amenities. All new Purple Line stations have radiant heaters to keep customers warm, LED lights for safety, and USB charging ports to stay connected. CDTA committed to improving the customer experience by using solar panels installed on station roofs that power the new amenities, highlighting their commitment to the environment.

The BusPlus Purple Line project will revolutionize daily commutes, providing comfort, convenience, and sustainability for the region. Keep an eye out for updates as we get closer to the launch date, and get excited for a new BRT line in the Capital Region.
