Crossgates Mall Roundabout Enters Final Phase - Paving and Striping

The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) is almost finished with the construction of the Crossgates Mall Roundabout.  This project is a significant element of the Purple Line, CDTA's third bus rapid transit (BRT) line. The roundabout will help the flow of buses in and around Crossgates Mall and future developments in the area, as well as improve access to, and from, the I-87 Northway for general traffic.

As the construction enters the final phase, paving and lane striping will begin Monday, July 10 and last through Tuesday, July 11. If rain impacts the work, paving will continue Wednesday, July 12.

During the paving period, the entire new traffic circle area, including the on-and-off ramps from I-87, will experience a temporary shutdown. This necessary measure ensures the safety of both workers and the public. This is the final phase of construction, and once complete, the area will then be open to the public.
