NYSERDA Clean Mobility Program

NYSERDA Clean Mobility Program

In March 2025, CDTA was announced as one of the recipients of funding from the NYSERDA Clean Mobility Program. The Clean Mobility Program awarded $2.9 million to 29 community-led projects to enhance planning for shared electric transportation solutions in New York.

CDTA was awarded $100,000 by the program to address inadequate and inefficient multi-modal transportation options by developing electrified mobility hubs that can aggregate various transit services in one location, improve accessibility, enhance efficient land use, and ensure that transit solutions are responsive to the needs of CDTA’s communities. This study will assess the use of bike and scooter share programs, implementation of micromobility charging hubs, and deploying electric carshare, and micro transit services throughout the Capital Region.

Mobility hubs offer multiple modes of transit services to reduce reliance on single occupancy vehicles and to integrate sustainable options. CDTA has several mobility hubs successfully in operation throughout their transit network, including  Gateway Plaza  in Schenectady, Liberty Square in Troy, and Manning Boulevard in Albany. CDTA mobility hubs offer BRTCDPHP Cycle! bike-share, and DRIVE electric vehicle car sharing, conveniently connecting all three transit options at one central location. With the funding from the NYSERDA Clean Mobility Program, CDTA will continue find innovative ways to deliver sustainable, efficient, and high-quality transit options to the Capital Region through the development of enhanced mobility hubs.
