UAlbany Busway Completion

With the completion of the UAlbany busway, a major milestone for CDTA's Purple Line was reached earlier this winter! This transformative project, which began in October 2021, provides a pivotal segment of the new BusPlus Purple Line that rolled out back in November 2023. The busway spans a mile through the UAlbany Uptown Campus, featuring a new transit priority lane and dedicated BRT station. Notably, the busway also includes expanded multi-use paths along Alumni Drive, enhancing connectivity and ensuring safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

Campus Center Station, a highlight of the project, boasts a modern BRT station, bike racks, benches, trash receptacles and green spaces. This station also provides ADA accessible boarding options. For seamless wayfinding, the station received a large pylon with CDTA's BusPlus branding to signify the enhanced amenities and high level of service.
